Our Story
Silk Road Riches began as a family vision born from deeply rooted traditions and shared dreams. Founder Kamil Khan was raised in Islamabad, at the base of the Margalla Hills, where his passion for textiles began during childhood trips to bustling bazaars with his grandmother. His background as the son of a Turkish textile merchant laid the foundation for a lifelong connection to fabric, color, and cultural storytelling.
Kamil’s journey took him from South Asia to the United States, where he met Johanna Saxena, co-founder and partner, whose heritage blends Indian and Finnish traditions. Together, they launched Silk Road Riches to give voice and visibility to the underrepresented cultures of the Silk Road. It’s a labor of love meant to build bridges between Asia’s past and its diasporic present.
